FidelioXpress Web CRO

MICROS is pleased to announce the release of the FidelioXpress WebCRO application. This application allows small groups of hotels to make reservations at different locations from their own central reservations office (CRO). The CRO office can be setup on a server at a remote location or it can be setup on the same server at one of the hotels. The CRO server communicates with the hotel servers via the Internet. Both server and client PC’s can run the CRO application.

The WebCRO application uses a single image inventory for rates and availability. This means that host server pulls the current rates and availability directly from the hotel. The hotel does not have to manage rates and room availability in two different locations. Profiles and reservations are stored in both the hotel database and the host server database. By storing the profiles in the host server database, the profiles can be accessed by other hotels within the same hotel group. That way guests do not need to provide their personal information each time they make a reservation for a hotel within the same group of hotels. The profile information is passed from the host server to the hotel for which the reservation is being made. . There is not a synchronization that sends all of the profiles from each of the hotels to all of the other hotels. Unlike the Internet Reservations module, the hotel group does the hosting of the host server for the WebCRO.

The hotel controls rate and room type availability. When setting up rate codes, the user defines whether or not that rate code can be sold via the CRO. The same is true for room types. In addition to defining which room types are available through the CRO, the user can also restrict the number of rooms that can be sold through the CRO. For each room type, the user can enter a Holdback Count. Once the number of available rooms reaches the holdback count, that room type is displayed as sold out when booking via the CRO. For example, a hotel has 10 King rooms. The holdback is defined as 4. When there are only 4 King rooms available at the hotel, this room will display as sold out to the CRO user. These 4 King rooms can still be booked directly with the hotel. The hold back counts can be modified with date ranges as well. In addition to the Holdback Counts, the user is able to Block Date Ranges. The Block Date Range feature allows the hotel to close CRO bookings for all room types within a date range. To close CRO bookings for a single room type, the user would need to modify the holdback count for the date range.

Reservations can be changed or cancelled through the CRO. Additionally, the CRO has the capability to perform group pickups from both tentative and definite groups that are linked to a company or travel agent profile. Groups cannot be created in the CRO application.
