| Hotel
requirements:
- The Hotel
must have its own web site.
- The Hotel
must have or install a permanently open internet link either via
broadband or ISDN.
- The Hotel
must have a router for their web connection that has a fixed IP.
Address provided by their ISP.
- The Hotel
should have a firewall installed and be running antivirus software.
- We have tested
Norton Antivirus, Inoculate and Sophos, use of any other antivirus
software must be checked with Micros-Fidelio UK LTD.
- The Firewall
should allow at least one N.A.T. (Network Adress Translation) connection
to convert external IP Address to the Internal IP Address of the
FidelioXpress server. Fixed ports will need to be opened to allow
connection of the web server to the hotel FidelioXpress server.
These will be given in the configuration document once the software
has been ordered. PcAnywhere ports will also need to be opened as
Support will now be moved from modem to IP.
- The Hotel
must have an email address for sending of confirmations
- The Hotel
must be running FidelioXpress PMS version 2.2 or higher. No other
PMS or lower version will be supported by this module.
Web Pages:
Micros-Fidelio
has created a standard set of pages that will be used. Micros-Fidelio
will not customise the pages on behalf of the Hotel.
Design:
The Web Booking
Engine has been designed for Single Hotels or Groups of Hotels. From
a simple application installed on the hotels server each site will
be able to:
- Open or close
rates
- Holdback blocks
by room type
- Block room
types by day or over a date range.
- Fix a maximum
number of rooms allowed to be booked in a single booking
- Request a
deposit
- Add or modify
the confirmation and terms and conditions
Due to the Web
Booking Engine working real time with the end user and hotel, the
hotel will be able to sell online down to the last room if they wish.
Single
Hotel Installation:
The hotel will
be given a URL link to be added to their own web site. This will create
a link like “Make a Reservation” that the end user will be able to
click on. They will then move from the hotel web server to the FX
Web Server.
They will be asked to enter the:
- Arrival date
- Number of
nights
- Number of
adults
- Number of
children
- Number of
rooms
The FX Web Server
will contact the FidelioXpress server at the hotel and check if there
are rooms and rates available for the dates selected. If there are
rooms available then the user will be presented with the Rates that
are open for the dates they have requested.
If no rooms are available then the user will be informed to call the
hotel direct for further information.
The connection
for each site is made real time. This allows the hotel to sell down
to the last room if they wish. The end user will see the true open
rates and availability of the hotel at the time they are making the
booking.
There is no need
for the site to go each day to another web page and configure. The
configuration of the rates, room types, confirmation and terms and
conditions are all done on your FidelioXpress server at each property.

Multiple
Hotel Installation:
The hotel will
be given 3 URL links to be added to their own web site. The links
will allow several options.
Make a reservation by Group
- If selected
the end user will be given a list of regions in the group which
they are then asked to select the region they require.
- The FX Web
Server will connect to the FidelioXpress server at each property
and check if there are rooms and rates available for the dates selected
The end user will then be shown the rate and a link to each property
providing there are open rates and available.
Make a reservation by Region
- If selected
all properties in the region selected will be displayed
- The FX Web
Server will connect to the FidelioXpress server at each property
and check if there are rooms and rates available for the dates selected
The end user will then be shown the rate and a link to each property
providing there are open rates and available.
Make a reservation by Property
- If selected
the end user will see the same as described in single property above.
- The FX Web
Server will connect to the FidelioXpress server at the hotel and
check if there are rooms and rates available for the dates selected
they will then be offered.
- Profiles are
created for each end user that makes a booking. These are then used
each time the end user makes a further booking to any property in
the Group.
Each Hotel can also have a list of the group’s hotels in the form
of an html page to be installed on each of the front desk PC’s. This
will allow the Staff member to make ongoing booking for your Guests
to another Hotel in the Group.
If your Hotel is full when dealing with a Walk-in, they can also see
if a Hotel in the Group has availability and make the booking for
the Guest in advance of arrival. This feature offers the Hotel Group
a form of Multi Property with out the high cost of a full multi Property
system.
